My latest fascination is with Plugins for WordPress. And, thanks to the talented developers out there, there are a lot of plugins to choose from.
Here is a list of my fav five at the moment:
- Exclude pages from navigation:
This plugin adds a checkbox, “include this page in menus”, which is checked by default. If you uncheck it, the page will not appear in any listings of pages (which includes, and is usually limited to, your page navigation menus).
Pages which are children of excluded pages also do not show up in menu listings. (An alert in the editing screen, underneath the “include” checkbox allows you to track down which ancestor page is affecting child pages in this way.)
Great for pages link thank you pages etc. that you might only want visible in response to an action like a payment, completion of a form etc.
- Coming Soon: If you create WordPress sites for clients and you do not want to have the unfinished site live, this is a great plugin and with just enough customization, you can make it look like the coming site.

- TweetMeMe: Adds a button which easily lets you retweet your blog posts. Download it here.
- Contact Form 7:
If you value simplicity and flexibility, Contact Form 7 is a great choice.
It allows you to flexibly design the form and mail. You can manage multiple contact forms as well.
In addition, it supports many features including AJAX submitting, CAPTCHA, Akismet spam filtering, file uploading, etc.

- WP Spam Free
An extremely powerful anti-spam plugin for WordPress that eliminates comment spam, including trackback and pingback spam. It works invisibly without CAPTCHA’s, or other inconvenience to site visitors. The plugin includes spam-free contact form feature as well. Finally, you can enjoy a spam-free WordPress blog!
